Let The Cuffing Season Begin

It’s that time of the season again, where people are wanting to be all cuddled up and loving on someone. The holiday time bodes well for romance, love and all the nostalgia of togetherness. It also is time of trickery and thievery on both a physical and emotional level. We oftentimes settle during the holiday season. People that you would not normally date, you find yourself looking at as a potential mate. Most single people, who are honest with themselves, can relate to this method. You meet someone before Thanksgiving and by New Year’s Eve, you’re bringing it in alone. You wonder what went wrong, knowing full well that feeling was forced. The musical group the Emotions had a very popular Christmas song titled, “What Do the Lonely Do at Christmas”. The opening verse of the song alone puts your mind in an emotional state.

‘Tis the season to be jolly

But how can I be when I have nobody

The yuletide carol doesn’t make it better

Knowing that we won’t be together

This song makes you envy love. It makes you not want to have that feeling of being left out. I find it ironic, that the name of the group is called The Emotions, but emotions is what makes dating during the winter and holiday season interesting. Your senses must be on high alert. I say this because some people only seek you for that emotional, loving feeling during the holidays. Now if you’re just like them then you’ve met your match and you can use each other to get through cuffing season. If you are genuinely seeking your equal, a person like this will only break your heart. It is during this time that you listen to your heart but don’t discredit what your mind is telling you. And as I always say, as long as you pay your electricity during those cold nights, then you will never freeze to death.
