The Greatest - Sia

Art is the highest form of flattery. It is speculated that Sia's new video is a tribute to the gay club massacre in Orlando, which occurred in June of this year. In the video Maddie Ziegler, who plays Sia, is shown in the opening number crying rainbow tears, while all the kids appear to be slumped over in the darkness. There is then progression as young Sia, liberates the others into a more upbeat feeling. What brings this speculation to light is the ending. It shows the kids dancing and full of high energy and then collapsing on top of each other motionless, with the image of bullet holes in the background. Sia was able to give meaning to each and every one of the lives lost. Everyone is someone's child.
