There is plenty of "I" in Team
As I sit here watching the recap of the Olympic Women's gymnastics finals, I started to get a lil emotional. I tend to get too involved in my programming, but back to what I was saying. These 5 young ladies showed such great camaraderie with each other. They supported each other all the way up until the gold medal win. It made me think of my life at this current time. Do I have that type of rapport and support system with the people in my life? When I was younger I played baseball and everyone on the team worked together for the greater good of the team. It was technically a training in the assembly of life. What one person on the team does will affect the next person, and eventually the team as a whole.
As a grown up in the working world, I see that instead of working as units, most of us are like crabs in the barrel. Everyone has that one person on the job who will sabotage your work to make you look a certain way to the higher ups. Hell, sometimes the higher ups are the ones doing the sabotage, so that they can thin out the number of employees on hand. I miss those days of trust. I guess that's why I threw myself into the feelings that I saw displayed in the Olympics. People we got to learn how to work together a little better than we do now.
